The Starlock Bariatric is a therapeutic air cushion that provides aggressive positioning, postural support and stability; along with the benefits of an adjustable air cushion for ultimate positioning and pressure sore relief. The locking device is centred under the structural anatomy, providing up to 119 individually locking cells. The outer side row(s) of cells remain in cell communication to support redundant tissue. The Starlock Bariatric can perform as a single valve cushion offering the highest level of skin protection and can provide isolated locking of each cell to create a personalised seating surface without ‘contact areas’ and the expense of a custom cushion.

Setup:

• Set up like a traditional single valve air cushion, then inflate the locking mechanism with the attached bulb pump to secure client position

• The attached bulb pump only operates air pressure in the ‘lock pockets’ at the base of the cushion providing quick and easy access to change positions, increase stability and customise

• The blue safety valve insures that settings will not be changed once set

• Once locked, the amount of air volume created in each individual air cell will remain

• In cases of accidental cell damage, only the air from damaged cell(s) will lose air, not the entire cushion or compartment, provided that the cells have been locked
