Spring Rehab Seminars

On 9-13 September 2013, C1 South and Custom Tech provided free nationwide seminars with Canadian based occupational therapist and clinical specialist, Jane Fontein.
Jane reviewed how the combination of seating and wheelchair set up can positively or negatively affect the independence, function and wellness of your client. She reviewed each component seperately but was able to highlight just how critical a combination and holistic approach was.
A review of the seating assessment was also discussed, with a focus on skin health. Jane's demonstration included: changing the rear axle position, seat depth/cushion prescription, back set up, rigid vs folding; and how these can impact the function of the system.
The seminars also showcased our back supports and new cushions from Dynamic Health Care Solutions nxt Seating Series, as well as wheelchairs by Motion Composites (supplied by Custom Tech).
You may have seen Jane's YouTube videos on our website, if not, she takes you through a step-by-step tutorial on how to set up our nxt Fixed Height and Height Adjustable back supports. These videos are a great way to become familiar with the set up or for those that were unable to attend a seminar.
